Окрім тем фізичного, емоційного, творчого розвитку, письменниця піднімає і надзвичайно важливе соціальне питання: як суспільству відноситися до людей з обмеженими фізичними можливостями, і як цим людям адаптуватися до світу і сприймати самих себе повноцінними.
